UCU is proud to be supporting the third LGB and T research conference. This follows a commitment from UCU Congress 2011 to promote L, G, B and T studies by supporting an LGB and T research conference every three years in order.
It has been 3 years since academics, researchers and activists gathered at Northumbria University for ‘Becoming or Unbecoming’ in November 2008. That conference was the second of its kind following “Lesbian and Gay Lives in Focus” conference in London in December 2000.
The Conference is open to anyone who is interested in this broad area at a cost of £35 to cover refreshments, lunch and rooms (payable to UCU)
The 2012 LGB and T research conference brings together academics, researchers and activists from across the country to look at the state of LGB and T research, to chart a way forward and to bridge the gap between academia and activism .The Conference broadly addresses the theme of coming, being and staying out throughout the diverse lives of LGB and / or T people.
