Time: Saturday March 31st, 3.30 & 7.30
Venue: Sallis Benney Theatre Brighton
This is a personal invite from a member of the Brighton Bushes. She writes:
“Once again this year I am taking part in the Vagina Monologues, doing the trans monologue which came out of the all trans women show in LA in 2004, They Beat the Girl out of my Boy – or They Tried, along with a huge range of monologues of an astonishing range of experience.
“It’s not my story, and it’s my story, all at the same time, and it resonates with something deep, painful and sweet within me.
“The cast is quite wonderful; The Vagina Monologues bring out some profound quality in women which is powerful and sweet, dark and light, funny and tragic and full of hope, and this is what we will all experience on the 31st.
“This is a charity event, and all proceeds will go to Survivor’s Network; a charity supporting female survivors of sexual abuse and Threshold; a counselling service for women experiencing emotional distress and mental ill health.
