Ow! Ow! And thrice ow!
Just when you think you’re used to something being a right pain (and a left pain, too, come to that), the experience shifts and changes, becoming a different sort of pain altogether.
The last few weeks have been marked by seriously sore/achy breasts. This week, the feeling has focussed…come to a head, so to speak, with breasts fine…and nipples about as sensitive and hurty as two very large spots. Wonderful – in time – I s’pose.
Just that they are sore enough for anything, from rolling over in bed to a light brush from a blouse to bring forth a yelp of startled pain.
Oh, I know. This is absolutely what I wanted, so I should pipe down and keep quiet. Take this as my contribution to public health: a compare and contrast for any other trans women going through the same thing. I understand that its never quite the same: everyone experiences this phase differently.
A constant, though, is that the early stages seem to be marked by a fair bit of pain as your boobs get up to speed. As my GP put it: if they’re hurting, that’s good.
Ye-es. That’s re-assuring, sort of.
Now, if anyone has any suggestions for creams, potions or anything else to make them stop hurting quite so much for a bit, that would be very welcome.
