Just in case regular readers start to wonder what on earth is happening on this blog: i have decided to use it not just for the personal, but also as a news feed. You’ll be able to spot the news stuff by the fact it will be in the news category and headed “News Feed”.
Cunning, huh?
That is, to write up stories that are probably of interest to some of the wider media, but which i have little time to pitch formally.
Also, my interest is much more to do with the analysis of the story: so as you will see, each post will contain both the news content and a back-end analysis putting the piece into some sort of context.
These will be available under a creative commons license, which means roughly:
- if you wish to quote from my story for your own blog or newsletter, and you are working on a non-commercial basis, please do so: i only ask that you attribute the story to myself;
- if you want to make use of the story commercially, either by lifting chunks or by getting me to do some follow-up, you should quote me as the source, let me know you are doing this (e-mail is jane@ozimek.co.uk) and also agree payment for use.
IO am well aware that some media are a trifle coy of paying up for creative commons usage: however, just for the record, i will be keeping tabs on where this material goes: and whilst i am happy to agree ordinary commercial rates with pre-agreement, outright steals will be pursued and i will seek to enforce a penal rate (approx. three times commercial).
